It’s that time of year again! The countdown to Santa is ON and if you’re anything like me you’re starting to panic. Giving presents is in my top five favourite things to do, but it’s also probably in my top five most stressful. And because I don’t want everyone to go through the same anxiety that I do (every.single.year) I’ve put together a gift guide for the active gal. You know, gals like you and I!
Leave this open on your desktop, email it to your friends, partner, parents, all of the above. Just trust me, the products inside all have my seal of approval.
Lime Crime Lipstick – Airborne Unicorn (RRP $25) | L&L Brush Set (RRP $89.95)
Both available from Lulu&Lipstick Beauty
Just because we spend half our life (ok 95% for me) in gym clothes doesn’t mean we don’t actually enjoy dressing up like a girl occasionally. This 12-piece hot pink and brushed gold brush set has everything you need for an even and effortless application. And this lipstick makes me want to cry with its amazing-ness. It contains lipstick and lipstain for prolonged wear. And the colour! Medium violet-purple with a touch of neon… be still my beating heart.
The Fit Foodie Cookie Dough Protein Ball Mix (RRP $14.50)
Available from The Fit Foodie
We’re exercising a lot. Which means we’re ALWAYS hungry. Problem is, it can be hard to find nutritious stuff to snack on that doesn’t take too much time to prepare and is also yummy… and I don’t know about you but the kitchen is not my happy place. This awesome cookie dough protein ball mix from Sydney-based food and health expert Sally O’Neil is just the ticket though – you just add a little coconut oil, rice malt syrup and water and you’re away! No blender required, just mix and roll into balls for a delicious post-workout snack or sweet treat. Suitable for vegans, vegetarians and anyone who likes tasty things. My mum has already requested this in her stocking.
Isowhey Wholefoods Bio-Fermented Pea + Brown Rice Protein 525g (RRP $44.95) and Superfood powders 70g (RRP $17.95)
Available online and from selected pharmacies and health food stores
2014: the year of the smoothie. This craze isn’t going anywhere (mainly because smoothies are AWESOME), and I like to make the most of mine with the sacha inchi, turmeric and gubinge superfood mix, which is rich in protein, antioxidants, minerals and vitamins. If I need a post-workout protein hit for faster recovery – or if I just have that worms-in-my-toes feeling – then this pea + brown rice protein is one of my faves. 17g protein, 3.3g carbs and 0.3g sugar plus it’s gluten free, dairy free, soy free and vegan friendly. And it looks pretty!

Lululemon Shanti Swim Range (RRP top: $69; hipster bottoms: $69; shorts: $75)
Available online or in-store
What would a Lazy Girl Fitness Gift Guide be without a little Lululemon? This gorgeous new swim range is a first for Lulu in Australia. Built for athletic performance, the fabric has a UPF of 50+ to help protect you from the sun’s rays. This set can take you from swimming and surfing to paddling and yoga – it’s perfect for active women and you can mix and match tops and bottoms! I own this exact set (black top, paradise bottoms) and I LOVE it.
Burt’s Bees Shea & Honey Pot gift set (RRP $29.95) or Tint ‘n Shine (RRP $19.95)
Available online and in selected Myer, DJs, Target and Priceline pharmacies. Tint ‘n Shine exclusive to Myer
Working out outdoors all the time tends to leave your skin pretty dry, to the point that regular moisturisers just don’t cut it. This cute shea and honey set uses shea butter, vitamin E, coconut and grape seed oils to make your skin feel loved. And for those nights you need a little colour but don’t want to go all out? The Tint ‘n Shine duo will keep your lips smooth all night long, with just a touch of colour. Burt’s Bees products are (on average) 99% natural – in fact, over half their products are 100% natural. Which means you’re looking after the planet as well as your skin! And at these prices they’re a perfect little stocking filler or secret Santa pressie.
Scunci Active hair accessories (RRP $6.95 – $9.95) | De Lorenzo Control Balance and Control Revive gift set (RRP $59.95)
Scunci available from Priceline, Big W, Target selected pharmacies and salons | De Lorenzo available at selected salons
You’ve probably heard me banging on about how great the Scunci Active range is by now. I have honestly never before used hairbands and headbands that have actually kept my hair off my face like these do. So good! And I have fine hair, so I need all the help I can get when it comes to body and lift. This De Lorenzo gift set includes shampoo and conditioner, as well as a protein spray enhanced with quinoa protein (how cool is that!) to strengthen and protect; plus Absorb, which absorbs (funnily enough) oil in between washes. They have a range of gift sets targeting different hair types though, so you can just pick the most appropriate. My advice? Put a little pack together featuring a few things from these two brands. I know I would be VERY happy with that.
Christmas: sorted.
You are welcome.
