My love of burpees is well documented. Some would go so far as to say that it’s borderline unhealthy, but I find it’s best not to listen to those people – #hatersgonnahate and all that.
Burpees are an excellent, total body movement that just happen to be A WHOLE LOT OF FUN (#bonus). And because they recruit such a large number of muscles, you’ll find they’re also a big calorie burner and one hell of a cardio workout. They’re not for everyone (you really need to make sure your form is decent or you’re risking injury) but once you’re over the awkwardness of the movement – and the general hatred of the pain – you’ll come around to my way of thinking.
This little burpee workout is simple – 5 burpee variations – 2 rounds – 10 minutes. But I guarantee you they’ll be some of the harder minutes of your life, in the best possible way. As always, this workout is adjustable, based on your needs. Increase rest time when you’re starting out, take a break between rounds etc – whatever you need to get through it. As you start to feel more comfortable, simply adjust the other way. Voila! A simple, incredibly effective 10-minute burpee workout you can do in the comfort of your own living room.
Happy Monday beautiful Team!
p.s If you’re not confident about the variations, check out this video demonstration post I did a little while ago.
Love your 10 minute workouts Jess! I’ve been doing them at home for a few weeks now. Quick, easy and makes me feel like i’m getting healthy without spending hours at the gym!
I’m so glad you like them Brenda!!
What a great post! Sometimes half the challenge is fitting in the time to train, so ten minutes? no excuses! Follow our blog for fitness challenges, discussion and motivation at https://wearedumbelles.wordpress.com
Thanks so much, really appreciate you taking the time to read and comment!
Oh my God, this was SO hard! I felt good once I have recovered but this was seriously one of the hardest workouts that I have done in a long time. Killer. How is it that you make the burpees look so easy in your demo vids? 🙂
Well that would be a combination of practice and you only seeing a 60 second clip of me doing them. Things get ugly after that 😉
