Date, Coconut, Nut & Goji Muesli with Butterscotch Surprise

May 20, 2015 By LazyGirlFitness Leave a Comment

muesli 1
I love muesli. The toasted stuff. The beautifully golden, deliciously sweet toasted stuff. In fact, I love it so much that usually I don’t keep it in the house. It is D-A-N-G-E-R-O-U-S. But sometimes you’ve just gotta live on the edge, you know? So on Sunday I cooked myself up a big batch. Cos I’m crazy yo. I’m proud to say I’ve only eaten about half of it so far and that’s pretty good going in my books, because it’s damn tasty stuff….

Crispy Skinned Salmon on Salad of Spinach, Blueberries and Pistachios

Salmon_ShopNaturally

A couple of weeks back I was asked to put together a recipe for the team over at Shop Naturally. They have a beautiful website and an ethos that we can all aspire to, so of course I was going to say yes. Now, anyone that knows me knows that if I put together a recipe for you there are a couple of things you can be sure of. For starters, it’s going to be pretty simple. And secondly, it’s going to be pretty simple….

Blueberry superfood smoothie [image supplied by Raw Blend]

It’s not exactly a secret that we tend to eat badly when we’re feeling tired, busy and stressed. So what should you do when that sugar craving hits and you just can’t fight it any longer? Just grab yourself a chocolate bar!

KIDDING (that would make me the worst personal trainer ever).

You whip up a smoothie of course!…

I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned it before, but I have a bit of a sweet tooth. Oh wait, yep. I have. Here, here and again over here. Turns out I’ve mentioned it pretty regularly over the past 18 months or so. Ahem….

Peanut Butter and Oat Protein Balls

November 21, 2014 By LazyGirlFitness Leave a Comment

PBballs2

Oh peanut butter. My love for you is strong. So strong in fact, that we had to stop seeing each for a little while. It was difficult. I cried myself to sleep every night, but if anything I think it just made me appreciate you – and the good times we had – even more.

Vitasoy Coconut Milk with Zoe Bingley-Pullin

My fave smoothie ingredients

My fave smoothie ingredients

I’ve been a big fan of coconut products for the last 18 months or so, which actually makes me pretty late to the party compared to a lot of people. But what I lack in experience I make up for in enthusiasm, with some coconut-related product making an appearance in almost every meal. From my quinoa and sweet potato salad to the choc-coconut paleo cupcakes through to my fave chicken curry, there’s really not much that this magical fruit hasn’t done for me….

Urban Paleo – the Lazy Cook’s New Best Friend

August 21, 2014 By LazyGirlFitness 1 Comment

UrbanPaleo2
So it seems that quite a few of my uni mates are kicking goals in the health and fitness industry. First, I introduced you to Georgie Smith, creator of g.luxe muesli and all its tasty offshoots.  And now I present Chris Ward – and his partner Fran Lamotte – who have created Urban Paleo, a pre-packaged Paleo meal business for those who want to eat well, but don’t have the time (or the knowledge) to cook themselves.

My Five Fave Foodie Blogs

June 20, 2014 By LazyGirlFitness 3 Comments

I like food. I like to eat it. I like to think about eating it. I like to talk about eating it. I like to read about it. I like to look at photos of it. I like to take photos of it.

I have an addiction to food, and as far as addictions go I guess it’s not a bad one – though the drool on my keyboard does make it difficult to type at times…

You know who I blame? Ladies, I’m looking at you:

Performa Nutrition – Waterloo

May 29, 2014 By LazyGirlFitness Leave a Comment

Performa1
As a personal trainer, scoring an invite to the launch of a new gym/wholefoods store/insert-healthy-pursuit-here is probably a bit like a normal person getting invited to the opening of a new cocktail bar. Pretty darn exciting.
