I don’t know how it happened, but the City2Surf is only five days away. Given that my preparation in 2016 has consisted mainly of eating croissants and ice cream in Paris and drinking hot coffee/chocolate/tea/anything-to-keep-warm in Iceland, I have a feeling this is not going to be the year I set a PB. In fact, for the first time in a long time, I’m mildly concerned about making it to the finish line with my body in one piece. …
In exactly three more sleeps, I’m off on holiday for 16 glorious days. I am so incredibly excited that I have to physically restrain myself from going to the airport right now. First stop is Paris, and after a couple of nights there it’s off to my new favourite football nation, Iceland. Bring. It. On….
I have tried a lot of different skincare lines in my time. And I mean a lot. I don’t know whether this makes me a bit of a skin care get-about, or fussy, or indecisive… all I know is that finding something that works for my skin has been difficult, especially now I’m in my early 30s….
Not many things remind me of being a kid quite like skipping. As far as memories-everyone-can-relate-to go, I would put it right up there on the same level as the Home Ice Cream van, Art Attack and coloured zinc cream. Fit people are just regular people who make a conscious decision to get fit, and to do the best they can for their body and mind. It’s not always an easy decision, but fit people know that being fit, healthy and happy is the best reward out there….
So I was just flicking back through my last few posts (I know, I know, I’m an egomaniac) and I noticed that it’s been a really long time since I’ve posted a workout – let alone a HIIT workout – on here. Kind of awkward, given that it’s a fitness blog, right?
We’ve all skipped out on a workout or two in our time, but when excuses becomes the rule rather than the exception, it’s time to take a look at those excuses, why you’re using them and how to overcome them and re-discover your workout motivation….
Happiness is a funny thing. Have you ever actually sat around and wondered what happiness is and how to be happy? Sometimes it feels big. And sometimes it’s just a teensy tiny glow in your heart. Sometimes it’s expected. And sometimes it comes completely out of nowhere and you’ll find yourself randomly thanking your lucky stars for all the amazing things you have in your life.
A little bit of Googling shows plenty of articles out there with tips on how to LOOK your best in the buff, but – if you ask me – the real issue is in figuring out how to FEEL your best… how to love yourself! It doesn’t matter how textbook-perfect your tummy is or how KK-esque your butt is if you’re carrying negative thoughts about yourself….
