LGF Christmas Gift Guide – for Women

Ho! Ho! Ho! Not long to go! Last week I brought you my Christmas Gift Guide for Men, and now it’s time for – you guessed it – my Christmas Gift Guide for Women! Featuring a range of gear from some of my favourite brands (big and small) you’re bound to find something in here for the fitness-loving ladies in your life.

Santa, are you listening?

Fitbit Flex – (RRP $129.95)
At its most basic level, we all know that weight loss is about energy intake versus energy expenditure. The Fitbit Flex tracks your steps, distance, calories burned and active minutes PLUS it can monitor your sleep and wake you with a silent alarm. I have one of these and it’s lots of fun — you can even sync with friends and compete against each other to see who’s more active.

Enduracool Towe
l
by Mission Athletecare via Stylerunner RRP $26.95
This awesome invention is made from a performance fabric that instantly cools with soaked in water, rung out and then snapped in the air. As a dry towel, it’s perfect for sweat absorption and when it’s wet it can stay cool for hours and hours! It’s re-usable and washable and just perfect for these HOT summer days!

In a Flash Lululemon singlet – (RRP $69)
I was lucky enough to nab this gorgeous top a fortnight ago and I pretty much haven’t taken it off (lucky for my workmates it’s sweat-wicking and breathable…). The loose fit makes it comfortable and flattering and it’s so light you almost forget you’re wearing anything at all. My absolute fave new Lulu piece.

Lululemon The Mat (7mm) RRP $69
I don’t often do yoga (it’s on my 2014 list though!) but when I do, I want to be comfortable. This 7mm thick mat has been engineered with rubber for added support and cushioning, so you can flip the mat over to choose the best surface for your practice. Available in a bunch of gorgeous colours and easy to clean, this mat is the ultimate gift for any yogis (or budding yogis) in your life. Lulu also does a bunch of other thicknesses (starting from $39) if you’re after something a little more lightweight.

Set of Lebert Equalisers (RRP $169 – currently $150 for set of two)
Anyone who’s trained with me knows how amazing these bad boys are. Simple, portable and versatile, these are a great addition to your home gym. I particularly love the Equalisers for training your back and shoulders (so much harder to do outside of a gym setting). Package includes two bars, workout DVD and laminated poster.

Swiss Ball from 66fit via Physio Supplies (55cm RRP $36)
Swiss balls are a great way to shake up your workout, providing an unstable surface that turns a simple exercise into something so much harder. They’re also a great way to train your core. These ones from 66fit via Physio Supplies are durable, burst-resistant and come in a range of sizes.

Sennheiser adidas CX 685 headphones (RRP $69.95)
A good set of headphones can make or break a workout. I’ve got a pair of Sennheiser adidas and can highly recommend them. Secure, comfortable and stylish, these headphones are everything you need and nothing you don’t to ensure you stay focused and motivated during your workout!

Donate to an Animal Rescue
Yes, yes, we all know I’m dog crazy… but that doesn’t make this any less of a brilliant idea. Shacked up with a panda-fan? Head to WWF and make a donation on their behalf. Kicking it with someone kitten-crazy? Visit the Animal Welfare League in your state and donate. In love with a dog-lover? You can’t go past Big Dog Rescue (that’s where I adopted Lou from!) but be aware BDR is not a registered charity. There truly are THOUSANDS of worthy rescue organisations all over the world. Just jump on Google and find one that’s close to the heart of the intended recipient!

Lacy things (Bralette RRP $53 / Knickers RRP $64)
Every girl should own at least one set of lacy underwear – not for anyone else, just for her. A cute matching set puts a little strut in the step and sparkle in the eye, and no one else even needs to know why (unless she wants them to of course!). This set is from a brand called For Love & Lemons. I originally read about these guys on a blog called Her Heart Cries Fowl and I’m a bit in love.

Ready to Dance bag – adidas by Stella McCartney (RRP $200)
You’ve got to hand it to adidas, they sure know how to pull off a successful collaboration. This adidas by Stella McCartney bag is both stylish and functional, with plenty of compartments for all those handbag necessities us ladies can’t live without. Perfect for taking from the gym to a coffee date with friends!

OK that’s it kids. There are only 6 days left until Christmas, so – if you haven’t done so already – it really is time to get yourself sorted! Luckily most shopping centres have extended trading hours for you to take advantage of this week…. I’ll be the frazzled one racing around Bondi Junction at 11.30pm tonight!
