During the week, finding the time to work out can be tough. I’m generally up before 6am, but between walking Lou, full-time work, PT sessions, netball and attempting to have a social life, from Monday to Friday my workouts tend to be the hard and fast ones I can fit in my lunch break. By the time Saturday rolls around I am super excited to be able to plan a workout for myself that’s longer than 30 minutes, plus I get to train near the beach and – the most exciting part of all – I get to work out with a partner!
Lately my darling friend Katarina has been the lucky lady who gets to work out with me. And last weekend we kept it nice and simple, heading to the dog park at Mark’s Park in Tamarama for a good old-fashioned bodyweight and boxing workout.
This is what we got up to:
Part 1:
BOXING – 45 secs on – 15 secs rest
jab-cross | uppers | hooks | high jab-cross
SWITCH
Part 2:
BODYWEIGHT
20 partner push-ups with high five
20 lunge jumps (per leg)
2 sets of stairs
Repeat with 15 reps and then 10 reps
Part 3:
BOXING COMBOS
jab-jab-cross-left upper-right hook x 20
Add two right kicks x 20
Part 4:
TABATA (read more about Tabata here)
Chest-to-ground burpees
Part 5: CORE
1-min plank | 30-sec right side plank | 30-sec left side plank
It was a lot of fun. In between exercises we were jumping around like idiots, watching the puppies frolic and just generally marvelling at how amazing Bondi is and how lucky we are.
What do you reckon? Pretty lucky right???
Have a wonderful Wednesday xx
