Oh my goodness, I thought tonight would never arrive… but FINALLY I can show off Lazy Girl Fitness’ brand spankin’ new branding.
When I started this blog 15-ish months ago I really had no idea where it was going. I’ll be honest – a lot of the time I still don’t. But there are three things that I do know:
1. Health and fitness is for everyone. You don’t have to run marathons or do CrossFit. You don’t have to enter competitions or downward dog seven days a week. You don’t even have to understand my deep deep love for gym clothes. But you do have to move – in whatever way, shape or form works for you. Find the form of exercise that makes you smile and do that – your mind, body, heart and soul will thank you for it.
2. Perfection does not exist. Lord knows I’ve tried to find it in a number of unhealthy ways over the years. I still have my off days (weeks even) but now I try to encourage myself – and everyone around me – to focus on what our amazing, incredible, totally spectacular bodies can DO, rather than what we look like in a pair of skinny jeans (although the jeans are a nice little bonus).
3. Inspiration + a dash of realism = happiness. Being inspired by one of the plethora of epic-ly (ha! that is so not a word) talented athletes/yogis/celebs etc online is great, but if you’re getting down on yourself because you can’t hold a Dancer’s Pose without falling flat on your face or hating on life because you don’t look like the girls on Insta who don’t even seem to break a sweat during a HIIT session (seriously – that is not even possible) then STOP. You may have the same number of hours in the day as Beyonce but she also has a multitude of staff members to help get through the day so you know, you’re not doing too badly at all.
These three things may not seem like big things. As I sit here on my bed with my brain telling me I should have gone to sleep an hour ago I can’t even guarantee that those three things will make sense to anyone that’s not me. But I guess what I’m trying to say rather ineloquently is that the last 15 months have been a crazy ride. And back when I made my old logo in Pages (using a random font and an image I took in the park when I was walking Lou one morning) I never would have guessed that we’d be going strong this far down the track, or that I’d have met so many exceptional people along the way.
Lazy Girl Fitness is just starting to hit her stride, and I’ve got an exciting announcement around my first Bootcamp Challenge coming in the next day or so.
So stay tuned, and let me know what you think of the new branding – I hope you like it as much as I do.
Much love Team xx
Looks great Jessa xx
Love the new look and love your training tips – congrats on a great update (not so) Lazy Girl! ?
