My Top Four Tips for Shaking that Cup Day Hangover

November 5, 2014 By LazyGirlFitness 2 Comments

So, you went a little hard on Cup Day?

Yeah, it happens.

Chances are you’ve woken up this morning with a pounding headache, dry mouth and the inevitable ‘well, I’m never doing THAT again’ catch-cry floating around somewhere between your ears. Either that or someone has taken a jackhammer to your brain. Well listen, you’re not going to get any sympathy from me, you brought this on yourself.

BUT.

I am going to help you out here a little, with a few words of advice.

1. HYDRATE. Drink some water. Lots of it in fact. Even better, guzzle down some coconut water and/or green juice, both of which are high in electrolytes.

2. EAT. But not that greasy burger you’re dreaming of. Eggs, avocado and veggies will do you the world of good.

3. GINGER. If you’re feeling nauseous (boy you did go hard!) some ginger tea may help to settle things down. Just simmer some sliced ginger for 10-15mins and add a little honey and lemon if necessary.

4. EXERCISE. You knew it was coming to this. Get up and get yourself moving. A short, high intensity session will help you get rid of all those nasty toxins. Plus, endorphins!

So there you go. No excuses for laying in bed feeling sorry for yourself now. I’ve even prepared a workout for you (at the top of the page) – it’ll take you 25 minutes and you can do it in your own living room.

Get up Team!

xx

p.s I’m not a doctor, so take from this what you will and always ALWAYS consult a medical professional if you’ve got any concerns.

Totally agree! Unfortunately it’s a work day here in Aus so everyone is going to have to find another way to deal – no rest for the wicked!
