Is it just me or is January disappearing frighteningly fast? I swear that it was New Year’s Eve last week, but my calendar tells me that it’s actually January 20th today (ahem, that’s seven days until my birthday if anyone is interested). The good news about this strange speedy-time phenomenon is that it’s time for me to head home and visit my family again, and this time I am bringing the boy along with me for the first time!.
The only fly in the ointment of this trip is an event that’s on in Sydney this weekend that I’d actually really love to attend. I don’t tend to talk about events too much on the blog because there are just so many of them, but this one is actually pretty exciting. It involves three brands (Skins, Runlab & Isowhey Sports) and one trainer (Andrew Pap), all of which I’ve worked with before, all of which I have a lot of respect for. If you’re a runner – or you want to become a runner – then this is for you.
What: RUNSTRONG Super Session (Strength training for runners)
When: 8:30am-12:30pm Saturday 23rd January (this Saturday)
Where: Camperdown Fitness
Cost: $149
What else do you get: Ummm a brand new pair of DNAmic Skins (rrp $149 – I AM JEALOUS!!!) + Isowhey Sports fuelling throughout the session
So basically, your morning will begin with a Runlab style technique/drills/interval session (I’ve been to one of these – SO GOOD!!) followed by a Runstrong session. Runstrong is a dynamic, functional strength class that follows a sequence of exercises in a specific order, challenging you with the use of different muscle groups, all necessary for improved running efficiency and form. Told you it sounded good.
If you’re in Sydney this weekend I highly recommend you book in ASAP. The calibre of the coaches is out of this world, and the Skins & Isowhey Sports are really the icing on the cake. I have just one request… if you decide to attend, please let me know what it’s like!!
