I love a new pair of shoes as much as the next girl, but I do have a few prerequisites. They’ve gotta be versatile enough to wear with different outfits for one, and a little pop of colour is always a winner. Oh and they need to be comfortable enough to get me through hours of bouncing around, obviously. Comfort is key.
OK, maybe I should be more specific: I love sneakers.
Guys I can’t help it. I have a minor addiction. And my addiction has been fed recently, with a pair of Adidas Pureboost X sneakers. It’s the first shoe with an entire Boost cushioning midsole, and I’ve gotta say, it’s pretty cushiony. It’s a running shoe designed specifically for women, with a floating arch that hugs the foot throughout your run. I didn’t realise this, but apparently women’s feet are significantly different to men’s. So when they were designing this shoe, the Adidas team used state of the art motion tracking technology to study the female foot and how it moves during running. The shoe’s unique shape was then designed to allow for a more comfortable fit that works with the natural movements of feet. That’s pretty cool, right? #yougogirl
Anyway. Last month I joined a bunch of other lucky ladies over on Goat Island for the media launch of the Adidas Pure Boost X. We tested out the new shoes in the toughest conditions – namely a hip hop workout (dear god, I was awful), boxing (more my style) session and bodyweight HIIT (that’s what I’m talking about!). The shoes held up pretty well – particularly given I wouldn’t usually take a new pair of sneakers and absolutely pound them in their first session. To be honest, I don’t see myself running in them much – I have really unstable feet (physically; mentally they’re fine), so for me these will be a super stylin’ gym shoe instead, for my lower impact workouts.
Check ’em out and let me know what you think. You’ll find them on The Iconic, as well as Adidas (of course) and a bunch of other fabulous retailers, no doubt.
Happy Wednesday, Team!
xx
p.s I was gifted my pair of Pureboost X’s, but you can rest assured the above review (as with all reviews on Lazy Girl Fitness) is 100% honest.
