What a miserable, wet rainy Sunday we’ve had here in Sydney. Terrible! Well actually, it’s fabulous weather for anyone who was looking for an excuse to stay in bed for the day, but for anyone who had things to do (me!) it’s been a tad unpleasant…

fun, accessible workouts for women
What. A. Week. I am totally and utterly exhausted as I sit here with a glass of water and a (bigger) glass of wine, pulling together the workout that I planned for you guys last weekend.
This workout is pretty indicative of what I’ve had time for in my own schedule this week – it’s hard, it’s fast and it’s simple.
Enjoy.

Thank goodness Friday has finally arrived! I’ve been feeling really flat this week – probably a combination of my dadda heading home, the cold creeping in and this unpredictable weather! Lou has a storm-phobia, and while I’m we’re very lucky to be surrounded by people who look out for him, it doesn’t stop the anxiety whenever I see ‘possible thunderstorms’ on the radar – which seems to be every second day at the moment!

Most of the time, I really enjoy working out by myself. I don’t tend to have many issues with motivation – I’m pretty happy to just get in and get my workout done. I know that’s not necessarily the case for everyone though – overwhelmingly, my clients tell me that they see me because they never really push themselves when training alone.

It’s been a hectic week here in LGF land, as Lou and I adjust to our new lives as Bondi hipsters. Between visiting the Bondi Farmer’s Markets, late afternoon swims at the beach, breakfasting in North Bondi, finding new places to work out and general exploration of our new environment, we’ve been busy little bees. Yep, while it’s been quite an adjustment for the both of us, we’re trying to make the most of this little piece of heaven you might know as the Eastern Surburbs!

You know that feeling, when you get to the end of a workout and you’ve still got a little bit left in the tank? You haven’t quite got enough time for another circuit, but you’ve got a few minutes to spare for something… as long as it’s REALLY worthwhile?…
Firstly, Merry Merry MERRY Christmas! Secondly, do not curse me for posting a workout on Christmas Day. I PROMISE I am not trying to guilt you into working out on this glorious occasion, I’m not even suggesting I’ll do it myself. I am merely providing you with a quick workout that can be slotted in between courses SHOULD YOU SO NEED IT to (hopefully) avoid the customary undoing of the top button on your shorts. …
Christmas is a most excellent time of year in the fitness industry. It gives personal trainers the world over a chance to theme their workouts and plan awesome sessions that involve chimney climbers, reindeer games and North pole lunges. It allows us to develop Christmas quizzes, punish you with burpees for incorrect answers and force to you hop around like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Ah yes, as far as I’m concerned it doesn’t get any better….
Last week at work I overheard one of my colleagues say (and I quote) ‘it’s too wet to go to the gym’. I can’t quite get my head around this one, given that most gyms I’ve visited have four walls and a roof designed specifically to keep the rain out, but apparently it’s the journey to the gym while it’s raining that’s overwhelming. So anyway, I thought I’d make life easier for everyone with another simple workout that you can do at home, no mad dash from the parking lot to the gym required….
