Making Commitments

So I’ve had a pretty full-on few weeks.

I can’t believe it was only eight weeks ago that I was sitting in a local cafe with Ruski (my lady-husband) when we started discussing (again) the possibility of a Lazy Girl Fitness Bootcamp. I’d been toying with the idea on and off for a while, and by that stage a number of my friends had started encouraging me to put something concrete together. I finally made a commitment to myself to get it off the ground in 2014 and we started to set some goals and put a plan together on the back of a napkin, with a blunt pencil we borrowed from the waiter.

Compression gear has come along way since I bought my first pair of (extremely high-waisted and very unflattering) Skins about a decade ago. But one thing that doesn’t seem to have changed too much is the price – it’s hard to find a pair floating around that won’t set you back upwards of $130. I live in my gym clothes, so on a cost per wear basis I could probably spend my life savings on a pair of tights and still come out ahead, but for many people that’s not the case. Which is why I think some of you will be pretty excited to know that I’ve found somewhere that you can snag a decent pair of compressions for under $70….

LGF.kissworkout.instSure, doing a double twist pike to lunge push up from a reverse headstand position is great, but sometimes you’ve gotta take things back to basics. Yep, in my humble opinion there’s a lot to be said for the simpler things in life.

I’ve kept that at the front of my mind while designing this little workout for you tonight. All you’ll need is yourself, a kettlebell and a sturdy step or box. And you know what? If you don’t have those things then just switch in a different exercise – it’s that simple.
