Kate Kendall is kind of a big deal in the yoga world… so much so that even I (one of the un-yogiest people in Sydney) know exactly who she is and admire her from afar – in a completely above-board and non-creepy way. The co-founder and Director of Yoga at Flow Athletic in Sydney’s Paddington, Kate’s approach to yoga is inspirational but still accessible – she’s hosted a couple of events I’ve been to and has a knack for making even total novices like me (I struggle to touch my toes and my downward dog looks kind of like a basset hound having a fit) feel really comfortable. And – lucky us – today she’s taken time out to share her thoughts on how to add yoga into a fitness routine….
My Fit Life with Kate Russell
Kate Russell is the Regional Community Manager for one of my all-time favourite brands, lululemon athletica. She’s got an energy that’s infectious, a passion for all things health and fitness and a healthy appreciation for a glass or two of wine. She also happens to be one of my closest friends and my live-in #ladyhusband, so I see firsthand exactly how much energy and passion she puts into everything she does. All of her deepest, darkest health and fitness secrets are right here, so trust me when I say that this is one My Fit Life you don’t want to miss.

Ruski’s Birthday Workout (but you can do it too!)
Tomorrow is my lady-husband’s birthday. Well actually hopefully it’s today by the time you’re reading this. Either way, she is turning the ripe old age of 28. I remember being 28…. back then we had to walk 10 miles through the snow to get to school, with no shoes and only cow pats to keep our feet warm. Or maybe I’m getting confused with my dad’s ‘when I was a boy’ stories……

Wanderlust – Sydney 2014
It’s no secret that I’ve got a bit of a thing for Lululemon. And by ‘thing’ I mean I’d exchange my hypothetical firstborn child for a van full of Lulu clothing. Maybe even just a shopping trolley full if I’m honest. So while I may not be the biggest or bendiest yogi going around, when I found out that Lululemon was helping to bring Wanderlust to Sydney, I was in….
2013 – My Year in Review
I can’t believe that today is the last day of the year! 2013 has been quite a journey for me, with some incredible highs and not-so-great lows – a similar story to pretty much everyone else I’d imagine. And while I know a lot of people say you should never look back because you’re not going that way, personally I think there’s some merit in taking a little time to reflect on the year that was and the lessons you learned. After all, those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it [that’s George Santayana, if you’re interested]….

7 Winter Fitness Essentials
Sometimes the right sportswear can make all the difference to your training. There’s nothing worse than sports bras that chafe, tights that wear holes in unfortunate places or shoes that give you blisters – and we all know that in the depths of winter, any excuse is a good one to stay in bed. Lucky for you I’ve got a little sportwear obsession – I’m the kind of girl that goes out to buy a dress and comes home with a new pair of tights and three singlets instead. In fact, I’ve probably owned more pieces of sportswear than you’ve had hot dinners and today that comes in handy because I’m going to share my winter favourites with you. You’re welcome.
