Eight Bodyweight Burpee Variations

September 7, 2014 By LazyGirlFitness 2 Comments

If there’s one thing I like more than burpees, it’s burpees on the wet ground, in the rain.

That’s a lie….

The LGF KISS Workout

September 1, 2014 By LazyGirlFitness Leave a Comment

LGF.kissworkout.instSure, doing a double twist pike to lunge push up from a reverse headstand position is great, but sometimes you’ve gotta take things back to basics. Yep, in my humble opinion there’s a lot to be said for the simpler things in life.

I’ve kept that at the front of my mind while designing this little workout for you tonight. All you’ll need is yourself, a kettlebell and a sturdy step or box. And you know what? If you don’t have those things then just switch in a different exercise – it’s that simple.

May 25, 2014 By LazyGirlFitness Leave a Comment

I feel like I really shouldn’t start another blog post talking about how amazing the weather has been here in Sydney this weekend, but seriously it’s so ridiculous I can’t help myself…. HOW AMAZING HAS THE WEATHER BEEN THIS WEEKEND?…

Let’s HIIT It!

March 9, 2014 By LazyGirlFitness Leave a Comment

One-arm KB squat pullIf you’ve been following my travels on Facebook or Twitter recently, you’ve probably noticed that I’ve been loving Fitness First’s new look The Zone gym on King Street in the Sydney CBD. The high intensity 30 minute (or 15 minute for the seriously time-poor) classes are an excellent way to escape the computer and burn some serious calories, fast.

Tabata Living Room Workout

March 2, 2014 By LazyGirlFitness Leave a Comment

planksMost of the time, I really enjoy working out by myself. I don’t tend to have many issues with motivation – I’m pretty happy to just get in and get my workout done. I know that’s not necessarily the case for everyone though – overwhelmingly, my clients tell me that they see me because they never really push themselves when training alone.

Asian-Inspired Beef and Vegetable Stir-Fry

October 24, 2013 By LazyGirlFitness 3 Comments

Like many people (or so I tell myself), my Sunday night dinner often consists of scrambled eggs on toast or something equally basic. Occasionally though, I’ll decide to get a little jazzy and try something new. Last Sunday was one of those days.

Simple Holiday Workout

September 2, 2013 By LazyGirlFitness Leave a Comment

Getting away for the weekend can be good for the soul, but there’s no doubt that it can also put a dent in the most well-laid exercise plans. So what to do when you’re away from the comfort of home with a hankering for some calorie-burning? Well, the good news is that you don’t have to have a lot of space, equipment (or even shoes for that matter!) to fit in a cheeky workout.

LG Motivation – Bev Robinson (yup, my mum!)

August 6, 2013 By LazyGirlFitness 6 Comments

Most of us have taken a break from exercise at some point in our life. And no matter the reason (injury, new job, laziness, having children or any other shift in priorities) there’s one thing that can be guaranteed – it’s REALLY difficult to get back into it.

So when that ‘break from exercise’ turns into decades and becomes a way of life, how do you find the motivation to turn things around? Well, today I’m talking to a very special lady who did just that. She also happens to be the world’s best mum, and she’s mine, so hands off.

One Fence, Five Ways

July 14, 2013 By LazyGirlFitness 3 Comments

If you’ve been following my blog here for a while (well, the 10 weeks that it’s been going anyway), no doubt you’ll be aware that many of my workouts are designed to be undertaken outside in the fresh air. As an outdoor trainer, it’s possible that I’m a little biased, but I do think there’s something special about training amongst nature, with the smell of freshly cut grass, rain and the occasional dog poo.

What’s not to love about the great outdoors?
