Kate Kendall is kind of a big deal in the yoga world… so much so that even I (one of the un-yogiest people in Sydney) know exactly who she is and admire her from afar – in a completely above-board and non-creepy way. The co-founder and Director of Yoga at Flow Athletic in Sydney’s Paddington, Kate’s approach to yoga is inspirational but still accessible – she’s hosted a couple of events I’ve been to and has a knack for making even total novices like me (I struggle to touch my toes and my downward dog looks kind of like a basset hound having a fit) feel really comfortable. And – lucky us – today she’s taken time out to share her thoughts on how to add yoga into a fitness routine….
My Fit Life with Zoe Bingley-Pullin
You might know Zoe Bingley-Pullin as the ‘good’ half of Good Chef, Bad Chef on Channel 10. What you mightn’t know is that not only is she an accomplished chef, she’s also a trained nutritionist, cookbook author and mum, who loves to share he passion for food. And on top of all that, Zoe is a huge advocate for getting out and getting moving – whether that be scheduled personal training sessions or walks with her family. Phew, tired yet? Well, Zoe’s not, and today she’s sharing with us exactly where her seemingly boundless energy is coming from. Sign us up!
Take us through your week in exercise
I take a real lifestyle approach to exercise, to make sure it fits as best as possible with my schedule; things have definitely changed since having my daughter Emily, and it’s now about exercising when I can….
8-Minute Workout Finisher
Monday Morning Kickstart Workout
Mondays. It’s fair to say that not many people really truly love them. It’s kind of a shame really, because they offer so much; a fresh start, a clean slate, a whole week of opportunity! But I won’t go into that in too much detail because hearing that on Sunday night will probably make you want to hit me….
17-Minute Leg & Butt Burner
God I love weekends. Don’t get me wrong, the working week is fine too, but W-E-E-K-E-N-D-S. I’ve had my bro and sister-in-law in town since Friday, so this has been an extra special one. Lots of eating, swimming, walking, drinking, shopping and relaxing. Just the way a weekend should be, in my humble opinion. Oh and Messina, did I mention Messina? Because there was definitely some Messina….
Ruski’s Birthday Workout (but you can do it too!)
Tomorrow is my lady-husband’s birthday. Well actually hopefully it’s today by the time you’re reading this. Either way, she is turning the ripe old age of 28. I remember being 28…. back then we had to walk 10 miles through the snow to get to school, with no shoes and only cow pats to keep our feet warm. Or maybe I’m getting confused with my dad’s ‘when I was a boy’ stories……
Death by Squat – the Workout Finisher
So, you’re at the end of your workout and you’re not quite ready for it to be over. You crave the burn and live for the pain. You want to feel the lactic acid building, the sweat dripping in your eyes and your muscles crying out for relief.
I like your masochism.

Total Body Workout for Beginners
It’s been a bit of a crazy week here at Lazy Girl Fitness HQ (otherwise known as ‘wherever I happen to be with my laptop’). Between regular work, training sessions, planning for my Vitality Show workout and preso (more info to come later this week) and preparation for today’s half marathon, I’ve really dropped the ball as far as posting goes. Fear not though, I’m back this week and firing on all cylinders!…
20-Minute Pyramid HIIT + Weekend Wrap-Up
I have had THE BEST WEEKEND….
The LGF KISS Workout
Sure, doing a double twist pike to lunge push up from a reverse headstand position is great, but sometimes you’ve gotta take things back to basics. Yep, in my humble opinion there’s a lot to be said for the simpler things in life.
I’ve kept that at the front of my mind while designing this little workout for you tonight. All you’ll need is yourself, a kettlebell and a sturdy step or box. And you know what? If you don’t have those things then just switch in a different exercise – it’s that simple.
