Some of the most enjoyable experiences of my life have involved social fitness. From organised events like the City 2 Surf or Tough Bloke Challenge through to lunchtime runs with workmates or casual outdoor sweat sessions and beach walks, I don’t think there’s anything better than getting sweaty with friends (and strangers for that matter). That’s why I’ve never understood why some people choose only to socialise when there’s alcohol involved….
Nike She Runs – 2014 (and Happy Birthday LGF!)
One year ago today I began this blog with a wrap up of Nike She Runs 2013… which incidentally I must have accidentally trashed at some point because I now can’t find it anywhere. #awkward. Anyway, in some ways I feel like I’ve been talking to you guys for waaay longer than that, and yet in many other ways I feel like it was only yesterday that I was sitting at Toko Sushi Train in Paddington with my friend (and now housemate) Kate, discussing how I was going to put together my first post. In celebration of the anniversary of that first Nike She Runs post I thought I’d do…. another Nike She Runs post! Look, I know I could have been a little more imaginative, but the dates just work. So here we go again Team…

Wanderlust – Sydney 2014
It’s no secret that I’ve got a bit of a thing for Lululemon. And by ‘thing’ I mean I’d exchange my hypothetical firstborn child for a van full of Lulu clothing. Maybe even just a shopping trolley full if I’m honest. So while I may not be the biggest or bendiest yogi going around, when I found out that Lululemon was helping to bring Wanderlust to Sydney, I was in….
The Perfect Weekend

Lazy Girl Eats – Sanduba
Attempting to find a place that serves a satisfying, nutritious lunch in the Sydney CBD is a bit like trying to find an Australian sports team that’s not losing to the Poms at the moment – they’re few and far between. So when I stumbled across Sanduba on George Street recently, I knew that the only fair thing to do was spread the word as far and wide as possible.

The 2013 City2Surf
Ahhh sweet City2Surf. The race itself may be over for another year, but thankfully the glow of satisfaction that comes with competing in the world’s largest fun run is still with me – for a little while at least.

LG Motivation – Bev Robinson (yup, my mum!)
Most of us have taken a break from exercise at some point in our life. And no matter the reason (injury, new job, laziness, having children or any other shift in priorities) there’s one thing that can be guaranteed – it’s REALLY difficult to get back into it.
So when that ‘break from exercise’ turns into decades and becomes a way of life, how do you find the motivation to turn things around? Well, today I’m talking to a very special lady who did just that. She also happens to be the world’s best mum, and she’s mine, so hands off.

The Biggest Exercise Mistake I Made this Week
These days I’ve become much better at listening to what my body is trying to tell me. If I’m having a flat day I’ll program myself a less intense gym workout, if I’m feeling a bit rundown I’ll up the greens and supplements in my diet and if my body wants a little chocolate – well, as you know by now, I give it that too. But there’s one area I really fall down in, and that’s running.

One Fence, Five Ways
If you’ve been following my blog here for a while (well, the 10 weeks that it’s been going anyway), no doubt you’ll be aware that many of my workouts are designed to be undertaken outside in the fresh air. As an outdoor trainer, it’s possible that I’m a little biased, but I do think there’s something special about training amongst nature, with the smell of freshly cut grass, rain and the occasional dog poo.

Sunday Confession
I have a confession to make. Despite all my good intentions, I did not manage to fit either a run or a circuit session in today. I know, I know, I’m as disappointed in myself as you are. Actually I’m not really. The thing is, Sunday exercise is a bit of a bonus session to me. I try to make sure I’m never reliant on it because let’s face it – it’s the day I’m most likely to get caught up with other more pressing items like seeing friends, having brunch, sleeping and shopping.
